While insurance and other medical assistance programs cover medical bills, they rarely cover the costs associated with travel. By networking families and providing patient/family events, the foundation helps to link families together to provide emotional support and understanding. The foundation also maintains a database of support groups and organizations as a resource for families.
The Craniofacial Foundation strives to provide educational materials and resources to patients and their families, health care professionals and to the general public. It maintains information regarding a number of craniofacial anomalies as well as providing links to organizations dealing with craniofacial conditions. The Tennessee Craniofacial Center has published Craniofacial Surgery, a book by Medical Director, Larry A. Sargent. The book is available HERE.
In addition to the above programs, the CFA supports “Project Happy Faces”, the international medical program of the Tennessee Craniofacial Center. It supports public awareness of issues dealing with the rights of craniofacial patients and their families and supports legislative initiatives dealing with patient rights.
