Palate 2 Palette 2015 danced through the historic Southside district on April 25, 2015 with a theme of "The Wizard of Us" based on the classic The Wizard of Oz. Patrons and VIPs strolled from gallery to gallery, meeting classic characters, as well as CFA patients who embody traits such as Heart, Courage, Intelligence, Hope, Strength and Resilience.
Stops along the stroll included the Youth Gallery at The Church on Main, Area 61, Miki Boni Studios, the H*art Gallery, Gallery 1401, a "Behind the Scenes" gallery at Debarge Winery, and the Living Gallery at the Crashpad, where attendees got to see larger than life costumes, created by the talented group at SpaGo under the direction of Mrs. Morgan Holland/Soirees, and even had a mentalist read their thoughts! Impressions Catering provided mouth-watering h'ors d'oeuvres at each location based on its theme. These delicious culinary creations were then paired with multiple wines courtesy of Athens Distributing.
Following the stroll, guests laced up their ruby red slippers and Willie Kitchens and his band got the Emerald City rocking at Track29 for the "Bubbles & Sweets" after-party. Josh Bennett, CFA patient, kicked off the after-party with his beautiful rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", followed by a Wizard of Oz themed performance from WEAVE Dance Company under the direction of Travis and Bernadette Upton.
Friday night gave guests a chance to view the Youth Gallery early by attending a reception to honor all of the area high school students whose work made it into the show. The Friday night reception was catered by Dish T' Pass and began with Zoe Ha, another CFA patient, singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".
Generous donations from BCBS Community Trust, EPB Fiber Optics and many other sponsors of Palate 2 Palette, the CFA's primary fundraiser, allow the Craniofacial Foundation of America to continue educational and emotional support programs while building awareness for children born with facial differences.
