The Craniofacial Foundation of America (CFA) is a nonprofit organization 501(c) 3 dedicated to improving the lives of patients with facial differences.  The CFA supports the work of the Tennessee Craniofacial Center at Children's Hospital and Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The foundation offers a variety of services to patients, their families, and the public and to health care professionals.  These services include:

Coverage of non medical expenses:
While insurance and other medical assistance programs cover medical bills, they rarely cover the costs associated with travel.  The Craniofacial Foundation offers direct financial assistance to qualified families traveling to the Tennessee Craniofacial Center for evaluation and treatment.  Assistance is provided for expenses incurred for travel, lodging and meals for the patient and one family member.

Support Services:
The CFA offers a variety of services for families that include parent to parent networking as well as patient family events throughout the year.  The foundation hosts an annual holiday party, a summer or fall event and a weekend family camp each spring.  By networking families and providing patient/family events, the foundation helps to link families together to provide emotional support and understanding.  The foundation also maintains a database of support groups and organizations as a resource for families.

Educational Resources:
The Craniofacial Foundation strives to provide educational materials and resources to patients and their families, health care professionals and to the general public.  It maintains information regarding a number of  craniofacial anomalies as well as providing links to organizations dealing with craniofacial conditions.  The Tennessee Craniofacial Center has published Craniofacial Surgery, a book by Medical Director, Larry A. Sargent.  The book is available HERE

In addition to the above programs, the CFA supports "Project Happy Faces", the international medical program of the Tennessee Craniofacial Center.  It supports public awareness of issues dealing with the rights of craniofacial patients and their families and supports legislative initiatives dealing with patient rights.
